The revolt against regulation – The Economist – My Study

Summary

There is a global trend to cut rules for the economy. This, of course, carries both risks and potential benefits. It is quite true that the amount of rules are excessive, costing time and money. With more problems to solve, this is unsustainable. Examples show that a deregulation at this time is beneficial; Argentina, a good one. What’s important is deregulation is done in a responsible manner, as some rules exist for a reason.

stymie: block, hinder, or prevent progress
